Biography – I’m a photographer specializing in dynamic landscapes. I’m consistantly drawn to interfaces in the natural world – whether that be where dynamic meets stationary or where biotic meets abiotic – these areas of interface make for the best photographs. I hope you enjoy checking out my images as much as I’ve enjoyed making them. I’ve just relocated to Northern California after finishing graduate school in Rhode Island and I’m constantly amazed by the variety of the landscape on this new and exciting coast.

Image Description – After spending the night in my Honda Civic parked on the side of the road I hiked up this creek amidst the redwoods. It had rained the night before so everything was damp and steamy, making for some great redwood ambiance. I didn’t see another soul the entire hike and it amazes me that in a state of 36 million people there are still many places in California that allow you to escape that bustle.

Location - Lucia, CA

Photographic Gear – Nikon D200, Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM, hoya HD circular polarizer, 3-stop soft line graduated neutral density filter (used upside down).

What a great shot. Love the misty trees and the b&w treatment.
