Image Description – Sunset at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island. The title refers to the fact that sunset was at low tide that night, so I set up on a small outcropping of rocks just above sea level. The tide rose significantly by the time I was finished at this spot, all but making my spot an island. I had to leap across a fairly deep pool of water that was about two meters wide in order to get back to the mainland; the tiniest misstep would have likely caused me to slip and, worse, cause me to lose all my gear to the Atlantic Ocean.
I made it across safely. Maybe a stupid decision to set up here, but I wouldn’t have gotten this shot if I hadn’t risked the tides.
