Night Fishing by Mike Alexander

13

Biography: I was on on-again-off-again shooter during the film days, with the Canon A-1 that my dad gave me. But since the Canon EOS 10D arrived, and I moved into the world of digital photography, there’s been no stopping me. Today I shoot primarily with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II, but I still have that old 10D (converted to infrared now).

Image Description – A rather unspectacular sunset, but I stuck around (feeding the mosquitoes). This gentleman arrived well after the sun went down and started fishing in the shallow water. There was still enough light bouncing off the clouds to give a reflection in the water, so I positioned myself to create a silhouette of the man in the reflection.

Location – Shirley’s Bay, Ottawa, Canada

Photographic Gear – Canon EOS 5D Mk II, Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L, Manfrotto 190CFPROB CF tripod

Image Editing Software Used – Lightroom 3.4
