Image Description – I was out before sunrise at the East Pond of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Sanctuary here in New York City. As the sun came up behind me there was a lovely warm glow as these greater yellowlegs, one of the larger sandpipers, flew past me.

Image Description – This was captured at the Wind Over Wings Raptor Rehab center in Clinton, CT. The goal of the center is to rehabilitate and release wildlife back to their natural environment when viable. I was lucky to attend one of their fundraising raptor shoots a few months ago.
