Biography: I am a North Carolina photographer who enjoys shooting all things, but especially portraits and urban or rural decay–I love photographing people, or the interesting and sometimes strange things they leave behind.

Website – http://www.markschuelerphoto.com

Image Description – I currently have a 45mm TS-E on loan from Canon for evaluation. Unfortunately, you don’t get to choose when they send you the lens. It has arrived during an incredibly busy stretch when I will hardly have time to use it.
I decided since I have such limited time with it that I would have fun and use it the “wrong” way–today, I had the happy coincidences of snow and an oncoming train while shooting a historic part of my hometown.

Location – American Tobacco Campus, Durham, NC

Photographic Gear – Canon 5D + 45mm TS-E, handheld

Image Editing Software Used – Lightroom and CS4

Biography – I have 2 loves. Jesus Christ and Photography. God, being the source of my existence and to whom all I owe obviously comes first, but Photography is my passion after that. I just started back when I got my first DSLR (a Canon Rebel XS) in December 2008. Since then I have really dove head first into landscape photography and a bit of wildlife photography as well.

I feel like I’ve learned very quickly. This is due to reading a great book “Understanding Exposure” by Bryan Peterson that introduced me to the basics of exposing digital photographs as well as some hands on time with some great teachers, Stephen Oachs and Brian Rueb. Their workshops are hard to beat in quality and fun, and I plan to attend as many as my wallet will allow me to.

Image Description – This is shot I took this morning during my visit to Lower Antelope Canyon. Typically people go for those fancy light beam shots, but this is not the best time of year for that, so I focused more on the stone formations and the way the light colored the rocks. This is my favorite shot from the various ones I took there, and I hope you enjoy it too. Definitely go check this place out if you’re ever in Northern Arizona!

Location - Lower Antelope Canyon, Paige, AZ

The Last Frontier by Laura Vu

Biography: I’m a landscape photographer in the DFW metroplex who loves photography and the outdoors.

Website – http://www.lauravuphoto.com

Image Description – As a wedding gift, my wonderful father gave us 2 tickets anywhere in North or South America. I have always wanted to go to Peru and Alaska, but I narrowed it down to the Last Frontier. We camped in Denali National Park and was lucky enough to finally see a glimpse of Denali from among the clouds (definitely the highlight of our trip) and then we went exploring at the Russian River Campground, Seward to see the glaciers, Anchorage, and some small towns here and there. Alaska was really unreal as it never truly gets dark in the summer, but it was always covered with heavy clouds, fog, or raining. Here is probably one image of the Alaska’s mountains that was somewhat visible. I took this picture the last day there.

Location – Alaska
