Image Description – This was a shot that almost didn’t happen. I was out at Block Island off the coast of Rhode Island and had gone to the north light to shoot the sunrise via dinghy. There was a low bank of fog/clouds that blocked the actual sunrise so I was headed in for breakfast on the boat. Just before I entered the channel I saw the sun break through the clouds so I went back out to shoot it. I wasn’t expecting much, but the layers to this image are what really make it work for me. I hope you enjoy it.

Location – Block Island, RI

Photographic Gear – Canon 5Dii with a 100-400 IS. This IS was crucial for this shot as I was in a small inflatable dinghy bobbing in the ocean.
