Biography – I’m a photographer specializing in dynamic landscapes. I’m consistantly drawn to interfaces in the natural world – whether that be where dynamic meets stationary or where biotic meets abiotic – these areas of interface make for the best photographs. I hope you enjoy checking out my images as much as I’ve enjoyed making them. I’ve just relocated to Northern California after finishing graduate school in Rhode Island and I’m constantly amazed by the variety of the landscape on this new and exciting coast.

Image Description – Ever since I moved to California last year I have been trying to create an image that epitomizes the rolling oak hills of central and northern California. This is my best shot at that so far.

Location - Sunol Regional Wilderness, Fremont, CA

Photographic Gear – Nikon D200, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX, B+W 10-stop Neutral Density Filter, Hoya HD Circular Polarizer, Singh-Ray 3-stop Soft Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter

Image Description – On this day, I had borrowed an ultra-wide angle lens (10-22) to experiment with. Using a UWA lens really puts a new perspective on things, especially when you aim the camera upwards. This is also an image from my 365 project that I’m working on this year, which can be seen on my blog.

Location – State College, PA

Photographic Gear – Taken with: Canon 50D & Canon EF-S 10-22
